Last Weekend for “Curious Incident”

Meadville Community Theatre is proud to be a long-standing part of this community. When the opportunity presents itself to partner with other local organizations, we jump at the chance.

“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” continues for one weekend more, September 20 and 21 at 7:30pm, and September 22 at 2:00pm. The location is MCT’s theater in the Odd Fellows building on Allegheny College’s campus, 400 N. Main Street in Meadville.

MCT Partners with Local Organizations for “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time”

As the title would suggest, a dog is featured in “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.” A number of canine stars have been brought to MCT by the Anna Shelter for these performances. All these pups are available for adoption by contacting the Anna Shelter at 1555 E 10th St Erie, PA, (814) 451-0203. We hope they all find loving homes as we have enjoyed having them at our theater.

The main character is 15-year-old Christopher. He has an extraordinary brain and is exceptional at mathematics, but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. Many in the cast are excited that this show brings awareness of Autism to our community. We would especially like to thank the Northwest PA Autism Society and Regional Behavioral Consultants and encourage anyone with questions to reach out to them. As a fun feature, all the music played before the show and during intermission has been selected by multiple community members on the Autism spectrum.

The cast of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” is led by director Geoff Hall, who works in the field of children’s Autism and has wanted to direct this show for some years. The cast includes Donovan Mascitti, Dave Neal, Vidal Mangal, Alicia Greathouse, Melissa Bivens, Jeremiah Saxton, Nerissa Galt, Meadow Campbell, and BJ Angstadt. They are all committed to bringing this riveting tale to life with sensitivity and grace.
