Each week, we feature here a cast member from Light in Odd Spaces. Today, we highlight Autumn Vogel, Meadville City Councilwoman and local theater enthusiast.
A Brief Bio
Autumn is so grateful to be part of this collaborative creative process. This is Autumn’s first theatrical performance at Meadville Community Theatre, though her first on-stage appearance in Meadville was in An Alternative Christmas – a concert on the MCT stage arranged by Tom Hall. Autumn has since appeared on other Meadville stages in shows like The Rocky Horror Show (Janet) and Chicago (Roxie Hart) and off-stage as the director of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Autumn loves Meadville, cooperatives, shopping downtown, and tending to her dog, chickens, and cat.
I asked Autumn what was her favorite part of the process in developing “Light”……
“The process of creating Light in Odd Spaces has given myself and the rest of the cast a chance to dig in deeply to one place and learn a lot about it. My favorite part of this process has been learning about the many histories of the Odd Fellows building as well as the many meanings it has held for lots of people. Just about any time I have told people about this show, it prompts a new story about the building, illustrating how some places can quietly play big roles in our lives and connect us to one another.”
