As you may have heard, the MCT is about to start its last season at our beloved theater in the Oddfellows Building on the Allegheny College campus. We (and you!) have had many extraordinary experiences in that building, and we are sad to leave.
However, we are also excited about our new space, which will be in the Cussewago Square development between Race and Spring Streets (the former Race Street Lumber). We, the French Creek Community Theatre, and other community organizations and businesses will all be located there. It promises to be an exciting cultural hub for the Meadville area.
As always, we value your support. This year, however, we need it more than ever. RAN Investments, headed by Rob and Nancy Smith, is generously creating the spaces we will be using (a theater, a building with rehearsals spaces, costume and prop storage, and a green room, and a separate set construction building). However, we will need to equip the buildings from scratch, with new lighting, seats, staging, audio equipment, and more. We’ve been saving money for a number of years to help support this effort, but we will need every dollar that our community can contribute to make the theater into the sparkling new venue that we plan it to be.
So please contribute to us as you do every year to support this coming season. But if you can, please contribute even more to help us make the transition to Cussewago Square. We will accept all donations, from the smallest amounts to the largest! (And if you really want to go big and get a part of our new theater complex named after you, please get in touch with me directly, and we’ll see what we can create!)
Please make your donations through Crawford Gives on August 24-27, 2024. By donating to MCT through Crawford Gives, you not only earn the benefits and rewards of being an MCT member, but you see a percentage of your donation matched by the Crawford County Heritage Foundation partners.
Meadville Community Theatre is part of the heart of our community. We thank you in advance for your dedication to helping us thrive.
