The world premiere of It’s Not All About Sex (Or Is It?) is tomorrow! Make sure not to miss it and get your tickets here.
We have a very special cast and crew from Allegheny College. Let’s learn some more about them…
Victoria Smith is our Director
My name is Victoria Smith, pronouns She/Her/Hers, and I am so excited to have my directing debut at Meadville Community Theatre. I have been involved with theater for a long time, mostly as an actor, but am thrilled to expand to this role. I am a junior at Allegheny College with a double major in Theatre and English and a minor in Classical Studies. I’ve been involved in Allegheny’s Playshop Theatre since my Freshman year, acting in a number of productions – my most recent being Bikeman in Fall 2021. After It’s Not All About Sex (Or Is It?), I will be Assistant Directing Playshop’s She Kills Monsters. I am very thankful to have this show under my belt as it discusses incredibly important topics of consent, sexuality, and relationships that can be felt all around us. Thank you to my Allegheny professors and all of the amazing, supportive volunteers of MCT for making this show a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and of course a huge thanks to my actors who brought joy and dedication into the rehearsal room every day. I could not have asked for a better first!
Mycah Quevillon is A
Hi, I’m Mycah Quevillon (she/her/hers), and I’m so excited to be on the stage for MCT. I am a student at Allegheny College currently studying Psychology as my major, and I haven’t settled on a minor yet. I have been acting for years now, but this is my first play done in Meadville. After this, I will be acting in She Kills Monsters, which I am very excited for. I also am a costume technician for Allegheny’s Playshop Theatre. I find that It’s Not All About Sex (Or Is It?) is a very important show to have people rethink what they know about relationships and sex. I feel like sex has often been stigmatized and not talked about enough, and this play really highlights the positive way we can change that. I’m excited to share these ideas and thoughts with the community in a way I adore, theater. I would just like to say thank you to my director and co-actor for a fun and amazing time. And thank you all for coming to watch the show.
alex martin is B
Hey everyone, I am so excited to be doing my first show here at MCT! I am alex martin (they/them/theirs) and I currently am a student at Allegheny College. I am working on a Theatre major and a Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies minor. Here at AC, I have been a part of two productions for acting, Bikeman and I am currently working on She Kills Monsters. Besides acting, I also work in the costume shop as a lead technician. This semester I designed the costumes for our production of Proof as well! I am extremely excited to be a part of this production as well since I believe relationships and sex are a big part of today’s society. This show brings up a bunch of topics such as consent, dating apps, sexual pressure, and more which are very important to talk about. Hopefully with this, we will all be able to discuss these topics without feeling awkward. Thank you all for coming and I am so excited to be a part of the MCT family!
