For this final performance of Love Letters, MCT is bringing together some familiar faces from local theater. Maribeth McCarthy and Dan Winston are overjoyed to be performing side by side!
Dan is thrilled to be returning to live theater with this production of Love Letters alongside his pandemic-era tea companion, Maribeth. The last in-person production he did was MCT’s Pride and Prejudice, in which he played Mr. Bingley, right before the world shut down. Over the course of the pandemic, Dan took part in numerous virtual productions, including Stop Kiss, You’re Virtually Driving Me Crazy, and “Plastered Performances” productions of The Tempest and Romeo & Juliet. If you share Dan’s passion for live theater and excitement about its return, he would appreciate you joining him in his endeavors to convince local theatres to put on a production of Evil Dead: The Musical.
Maribeth is so excited to be doing one of her favorite plays alongside one of her favorite people. She recently finished a run of The Last 5 Years at the Meadville Council on the Arts, and I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change at the Ashtabula Arts Center. By day, she can be seen and heard as the (not so elusive) magical unicorn voice of The ONE Federal Credit Union, and also spends her time writing children’s books about Colby, her teddy bear companion. She will next be co-directing and appearing in December’s Sweet Tea and Christmas Trees, her newest play and sequel of Sweet Tea And Baby Dreams, which also originally appeared at Meadville Community Theatre. She hopes if you love the show tonight, it will inspire you to write a letter to an old friend.
